The eighth chapter in photographer Mark Alan's limited-edition zine series Happy Trail, this issue is 50 satin-finished pages of uncompromising, confident, and artfully rendered male photography. And with only 100 copies in existence, it's destined to become the most sought-after volume in the series.

The Vision Behind Happy Trail
Happy Trail began as a natural extension of Mark Alan's broader creative project, The Male Muse, a platform he built from the ground up after years of shooting fashion, portraiture, and fine art male nudes across Los Angeles and, later, Spain. With more than two decades behind the lens, Mark brings a photographer's eye that is both technically precise and deeply personal. He views his subjects as collaborators, each session a conversation between lens and subject, built on trust and creative rapport.
Where many photography magazines chase trends, Happy Trail follows its own aesthetic: direct, warm, confident, and unafraid. Each volume captures something honest about the men who appear in it, their presence, their physicality, and the subtle story each frame tells. Volume 8 continues that tradition, and then some.
Meet the Men of Volume 8
This issue is perhaps the most internationally diverse lineup in the Happy Trail catalogue, bringing together ten compelling men whose backgrounds span Europe, South America, and beyond.
Lalo Gaspar graces the cover and makes a bold first impression, the kind of shot you keep coming back to. His feature is a standout, natural and self-assured, exactly the kind of work that defines what Happy Trail does best.

Leander, a London-based performer with serious on-screen credentials, proves just as magnetic in still photography. His shoot captures a quiet intensity that lingers long after you turn the page.

Santiago Santamaria brings South American warmth and dynamism to the issue. Photographed against hotel settings, his images have an editorial confidence that wouldn't look out of place in the glossiest international magazines.

DeepandRough and Aaron Broderick, both established names in the OnlyFans space, make their print debuts here in a way that reframes how you see them. There's a stillness to their shoots, a chance to slow down and really look, that the scroll of a feed never allows.

Rounding out the issue are five additional amateur models, Pierre Aubin, Richi, Zian, Abder, and others, whose shoots are among the most striking in the entire volume. There's something particularly compelling about a great photographer working with someone who has never posed before; the results tend to be raw, genuine, and unforgettable. Mark Alan has always understood this, and Volume 8 is proof.

Why Volume 8 Is Different
Previous volumes of Happy Trail have leaned into a range of styles, from the explicitly bold to the quietly suggestive. Volume 8 feels like the series hitting a confident stride, the curation is tighter, the photography more assured, and the lineup wider in geographical scope than ever before. The mix of established adult performers and fresh amateur talent creates an interesting dynamic on the page: the practiced ease of someone used to the camera, set alongside the unguarded quality of someone stepping in front of it for the first time.
The 50-page satin finish is a tactile experience in itself. These aren't images intended only for screens. They're photographs meant to be held, turned over, returned to. That's the whole point of a limited-edition print zine, it's a deliberate, physical act of appreciation.

A Collector's Object
Here's the thing about Happy Trail volumes: they sell out, and they don't come back. Each issue is capped at 100 copies, and once they're gone, there's no second printing. Previous volumes have quietly disappeared from the store, leaving latecomers with nothing but the digital edition. Volume 8 is no different.
For US customers, copies are available through the Blurb store. International orders outside the US ship directly from The Male Muse Store.
